“Will You Take That Challenge?”

This would become A Teachable Moment!”

The 11 year old girl, visiting her grandmother, said that she had quit her team and joined another. Knowing that she had excelled with the first team, her grandmother inquired why she would change teams when she was doing so well. The girl replied: The older girls were making fun of me and talking about me behind my back.” She continued: “They said that I was not good enough to make the elite team. They stared at me whenever I performed, hoping I would make a mistake. Then, they would criticize me in front of my other teammates. They probably hate me. So, I quit that team.” The grandmother could see the disappointment in the girl’s face and posture.

Then, the wise older woman shared, “Let me tell you a story.” After a short pause to see that the girl was listening, she began to speak. “Many years ago, when I was an office manager in a law firm, I joined a professional women’s club. A few months later, the general manager of a radio station, came to me after one of the meetings. She told me that she believed that I could do very well selling radio ads. After discussing this with your grandfather, I decided to change jobs, joining the radio station’s sales team.”

The grandmother continued: “There were 4 other women on the sales team, with many years of sales experience. What they told me took me by surprise. They said I was too soft, too nice, and not tough enough to ever succeed In selling. They told me that I would not last 90 days in sales!” Then they proceeded to either ignore me, laugh at my mistakes, or make nasty comments about how I would never achieve success.

So, I had a serious discussion with your grandfather. He looked at me and shared; “I have been training successful salespeople for many years. You not only have what it takes to succeed in sales, you have the ability to listen to your clients, and the desire to help them be successful. Instead of being a salesperson only interested in making money, you genuinely care about your clients. That combination will help you pass those naysayers, as you earn your way to the top.” She smiled and said, “In 3 ½ years I passed all 4 of those women. In 4 ½ years, I was the top radio salesperson in the city. Later, the women in our professional women’s club voted to make me their president.”

The grandmother told the girl: “Now listen closely! Here is how I achieved my success. And, how you will succeed as well.  Each time someone told me that I would fail, I used their comment as motivation to show them they were wrong. And, I kept doing the right things to help me improve and learn more. I knew that haters never win. And, because they won’t win, they want to ensure that others lose as well!” She continued, “I have seen your talent and your drive, the way you practice and perform. You have what it takes to pass those negative people around you. Use their comments as motivation, to fuel your inner desire to win, to improve daily, and to pass them as you get better. And, that is how you will win, in spite of the haters! Do you understand?”

With tears in her eyes the girl nodded her agreement. She replied: “Now, not only do I understand! I now know what to do, to pass them on MY WAY…to the TOP!”

Young people need someone to show them how to win.

“INFLATION: What it Is & Why it Matters!” (part 2)

There is an additional government policydirectly responsible for INFLATION.

The US is no longer energy independent. The average price of gasoline in 2020 was $1.87/gallon compared to the average today of $3.47/gallon. Our government is selling off our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which is for emergencies only, to keep prices low, to win elections. If our Reserve was still intact, gas would be over $4.00 today.

Additionally, our government cancelled leases for drilling on all government lands, cancelled the Keystone pipeline, and prohibited the exporting of Liquified Natural Gas. Remember that oil is not only used for fuel. Our food, medicines, plastics, asphalt, and fertilizers all come from oil. And, all these increase in price when oil increases in price.

Solutions to reduce INFLATION:

1st: Unleash our energy production here in the US. Instead of buying oil from other countries, let’s develop and use our own resources. The US has more oil and natural gas than any other country on earth. By achieving energy independence, the US will become the world’s greatest exporter of energy. This will accomplish reducing the cost of oil, which in turn will reduce the cost of gasoline, food, medicines, fertilizer, asphalt, and anything made with plastic. Those price reductions will lower inflation quickly. As oil gets below $45/barrel we will refill our SPR to be used for emergencies only.

2nd: Reduce the size and reach of government by utilizing the following actions.    Eliminate baseline budgeting which allows government agencies to spend as much as they want in any fiscal year, with no guardrails or mandates. That amount becomes the new baseline and they automatically get an 8% increase for the next year.

Outlaw continuing budget resolutions. If Congress will not pass the funding bills required to run the government, shut the government down and require that Congress & the President get no pay until these bills pass. Outlaw all earmarks in spending bills.

Require all governmental departments to reduce their budgets by 5% each year for the next 5 years. Hire an outside auditor, who is doing NO business with the government, to identify agencies and commissions with duplicate responsibilities. Report these results to the President, to Congress, & to voters. All duplications must be eliminated.

Shut down all DEI departments, terminating both managers and staff. Reduce the Education Dept.budget by 25% next year, by 25% the following year, and shut down the department in the 3rd year, returning education back to the states where it belongs.

3rd: Close our border and enforce our immigration laws.Illegal immigration greatly increases government spending. Currently, democrats want an open border, so more people will come in, be dependent on government, & become future democrat voters.

These are just a few of the actions we can take to reduce INFLATION by getting control of our government. Please share your solutions & we will publish them at a later date.
